Man, I am so glad this work week is almost over. It has been a pretty interesting week with a little drama added into the mix. So, needless to say, I am more than ready for a relaxing weekend where I can focus on more fun things like hanging with my man and working around our place! Yay!
After work, I headed to the gym to do some weights and abs. Here’s what I did:
Workout
Warm-up: treadmill 5 mins
Workout: 3 sets, 12 reps
Bicep curls – 10lbs and last 2 sets bumped up to 12lbs
Tricep machine – 22lbs
Chest press – 12lbs
Leg Curl (Hamstring) – 33lbs then bumped up to 44 last 7 reps
Squat – 15lbs on each side and then bumped up to 20bls for last 2 sets
Military press – 8lbs
Abs: 10 mins
Standard crunches – 30
Bicycle crunches – 20
Oblique crunches – 15 per side
Plank – 30 sec
Leg scissors – 20
Reverse crunch with kickout – 10
Stretching – 5 mins (should probably do a lot more!)
After the gym I was HUNGRY, so I whipped up a quick meal. The hubby is out giving someone a helping hand, so it’s just me and Bentley haning out right now.
Dinner
I ate dessert first…because I CAN! Delicious banana bread. I also snacked on 2 brazil nuts and 5 almonds while I was fixing dinner (not pictured)
And for my main course I tried a new product tonight Gardein Garden Protein Lightly Seasoned Chick’n Scallopini, 1/4 of an avocado and zucchini. I had seconds on the zucchini – it tasted really good tonight.
I really like this brand. I’ve also tried their Classic Buffalo Wings and their Seven Grain Crispy Tenders. These are all vegetarian and taste awesome. Sometimes faux meat products have a funny texture, but these don’t. They really have a great taste and good nutritional stats. My hubby has tried this too and likes them a lot. Of the ones I’ve tried so far, the crispy tenders seem “right on” trying to imitate actual chicken tenders. I will definitely be buying these again and can’t wait to try the other varieties they carry. Delicioso!
So, I’m just hanging out watching some Law & Order. Thinking I’ll go read a bit. I’m hosting a book club in December on The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri. So good! I’m re-reading it so it’s all fresh for our disscusion.
I’m also sipping on this: Bengal spice tea with soy milk and a few drops of vanilla creme stevia. I also had a little piece of chocolate (also not pictured as my camera died)
Peace out.
