Sunday morning I was so sore from my workout on Saturday. So, since it was my designated rest day, I went to the gym and walked on the treadmill at a pretty slow pace to get the blood flowing to my muscles. I also read my Shape magazine. I’m so excited because I used to suscribe to it a long time ago and the hubby was able to get the subscription for free through his points he’s racked up! Score!
Breakfast:
Breakfast was another one of these – really love them.
And 1/2 a banana
Lunch:
Then we headed to our church, Common Ground around 10:15. After church we headed home and the hubby fixed us breakfast for lunch. Here’s what I had:
Lunch:
The hubby also made some homemade salsa – he used fire roasted tomatoes, jalepeno, cilantro, onion, garlic powder, chili powder, cumin, ground mustard, salt and pepper – super yummy.
And then I smothered breakfast in this deliciouness.
Sunday afternoon we spent mostly on the couch just hanging out with one another and our beloved Bentley scratchy pants.
I did make a little treat that I’m sending to my parents and will post about it later.
For dinner, the hubby and I decided to head out for dinner but we couldn’t decide what to eat. We kind of wanted Indian, but we didn’t know of a place that was opened near us. So, we headed over to Whole Foods since they have a variety of foods on their hot and cold bar. But when we got there it was a little after 8:00 and the food just didn’t look too appetizing after all. It looked a little dried out and who knows how long it had been sitting out. So, we just ended going over to the frozen dinner section and picked a couple of Indian items to split.
Dinner:
Ethnic Gourmet: Chicken Biryani
Sukhi’s Natural Authentic Indian Cuisine: Channa Masala and Dal Saag
Wolfgang Puck: Chicken Potstickers
The Sukhi’s brand was ok. The rice was a little weird in texture to me, but the main dish was ok. Better than some of the frozen meals I’ve had before. This brand needed a little more salt on the food than usual. But it was ok. The ethnic gourmet brand was actually pretty good. I mean it’s no homemade biryani, but it had a good flavor and was made with brown rice…which is always a plus. The potstickers were so yummy. I ended up pan seering these and then pouring 1/2 water into the pot to steam for about 9 mins. They came with a delicioius dipping sauce. I would definitely buy these again!!
And I also tried a new beer from their vast selection. It was called Snowbound Winter Ale, brewed by Left Hand Brewing and uses all natural ingredients, including crushed cinnamon, honey, chopped ginger, orange zest, cardamon & cloves. (Sorry for the super dark photo)
This beer was pretty strong and it was a rather large bottle (1 pint, 6mL), so I probably had only about 6 oz. Full bodied and nice spiced flavor. I tried to save the beer to have later on this week because it was so big, so I put the cap back on and hope it keeps it’s flavor/freshness. We’ll see.
After dinner the hubby and I just watched some Law & Order and called it a night.
Calories not calculated today as I was just busy and maybe a little lazy.
Peace out.
