Weekend that is!
Monday’s are not my favorite day…I really enjoy my weekends and this morning I could’ve slept forever, I was really still tired from the whole weekend. But work was ok, it was busy with different projects and “fires” to put out.
I did start planning what we’re doing for our office Christmas party. And the bosses approved taking everyone out to lunch which I’m super thrilled with. I love our potlucks, but it’s always nice to be wined and dined. So, I did a little e-vite for the office, eventhough everyone will be coming because it’s during the work day. But I thought that would be a little more fun than just sending an email like hey – this is what we’re doing.
The plan is to have lunch at P.F. Chang’s and then play Dirty Santa with the crew.
We’re also going to play Dirty Santa and I can’t wait to see what people bring. It’s going to be such a trip!! I hope I can remember to take some photos!
Here’s how to play:
Everyone playing the game brings a wrapped gift so there is no indication about what is inside. Place gifts together under the tree or on a table.
The host writes a number on scrap pieces of paper for every gift and places them in a basket, bowl or hat.
Each person draws a number. Getting a higher number is actually better because you will have more opened gifts to choose from.
The person with #1 picks a gift to open from the pile. The person with #2 can choose to open another package or steal the gift from #1. If a gift is stolen, the person who had it then steals from someone else or picks another gift to open.
The game continues like this until everyone takes a turn opening or stealing a gift. The last person to go can steal from anyone in the game or open the remaining gift.
Once a gift is stolen three times, it is retired from the game.
It should be a blast. Now onto today’s eat’s….
Breakfast:
To-Go Oats
- 1/4 cup quick cooking oats
- 2 Tbsp ground oats
- 1/2 Tbsp brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- walnuts
- pinch of salt
I made 6 little baggies of this to pack with me for work that way I can always have a nutritious breakfast no matter what. I just added some hot water and let the oats soak for several minutes. It’s not the same as stove-top oats, but still very good for ya.
Lunch:
Well needed Arugula salad with cucumber, cherry tomatoes, 1/4th cup chickpeas, 1 Tbsp of avocado. Dressing was balsamic vinegar, dijion mustard, dried dill and a little bit of olive oil, all mixed together.
1/2 banana with 1.5 tsp of Smuckers Natural Creamy PB
1/3 cup butternut squash soup
Snack: I did munch on some of the chai spiced cookies and a sugar cookie today – all unpictured
Around 4 I had 1/2 gala apple with 1 tsp of Smuckers Natural Creamy PB
After work, I headed home to feed Bentley Scratchy Pants.
Then I headed to the gym to get some exercise.
Workout:
5 min warm-up on treadmill – walking
45 min on stationery bike- resistance on level 3 and pedaled fast
5 min cool down on treadmill – walking
Dinner: I was craving another pita sandwich tonight.
- 1/2 whole wheat pita
- 1 Tbsp Avocado
- 2 egg whites
- Some Cilantro-Mint Chutney
- Spinach
- Cucumber
Glass of Red Wine
For dessert, I had some Banana Bread
I’ve just been recaping the weekend this evening and will hopefully be more consistent about blogging on the weekends and take more pics. I am a work in progress.
