Yesterday was our holiday party at work and it was so much fun!
I’ll start with Breakfast: To-Go Oats – eaten plain from my little baggie. Tasted great though.
For lunch, we had reservations for P.F. Changs and then we played “Dirty Santa”.
Lunch: I had the Steamed Buddha’s Delight w/ brown rice and a cup of Hot and Sour Soup. It was a really good. I didn’t eat all of my rice and just put about a tsp of their “special sauce” on the veggies and rice.
I had printed off the menu last week to see the nutritional dishes and I was blown away by what I saw. It’s scary. Because most of the serving sizes have a lot of calories, sodium and fat and some of the plates have anywhere from 2-4 servings per dish. I can’t believe how much you can rack up in one sitting. Luckily they do offer some good alternatives.
Everyone really enjoyed their lunch and then it was back to the office for dirty santa!!
Here’s what I picked during dirty santa:
I am really excited about this. I’ve seen this on TV and have wanted one! So, when one of the girls opened this up, I had to stake my claim on it and steal it away from her. Another girl picked a Starbucks giftcard and she doesn’t drink hot tea or coffee, so she gave it to me – Score. Guess where I’ll be heading today??!!!
It was really a lot of fun, I think everyone really had fun.
When I got home, I knew I needed to cook/back for the hubby’s office party, but I needed to hit the gym, since I didn’t do it that morning. I was really proud of myself because when I get home, that’s usually the last thing I want to do. But I fed Bentley and then quickly changed into my clothes so I wouldn’t have the chance to talk myself out of it.
Workout:
- Warm-up: 10 min, walking on treadmill
- Run: 5 miles WOOT WOOT – time 49:40 -
- Cool Down: 8 min, walking on treadmill + a little stretching
My goal was 4 miles yesterday and I wasn’t sure I was going to make that. I started off slow and wanted to reach 4 miles in 40 mins, so I had to book it the last mile to get it in at 40 mins, which I did! But as I was bringing down the speed, I thought to myself, I’m going to need to start going farther for the race I’ve signed up for in Feb. So, I said to myself, I wonder if I can get another mile in. I didn’t care about speed, I was planning on running slow, I just wanted to get that other mile in. But I felt ok, so I pushed myself and got that last mile in at 9:40. Which is very good for me. I haven’t done 5 miles in ages! Like since my wedding. So, it felt awesome!
When I got back from the gym, I rinsed off and started on the items I was making for the hubby’s potluck. I’ll post the recipes later. Then I had some dinner while I cooked/baked.
Dinner: 1 egg with goat cheese crumbles + a good serving of my olive oil cake
After finishing up my baking, I cleaned up the kitchen and then headed to bed.
Peace out.
