Boo, today is my last day of vacation and I have to head back to work tomorrow. I had to stop by there this morning to do payroll and there’s some drama going on. AWESOME - now I really can’t wait to go back.
After heading home from the office, I called my sister and she needed to get some more cold medicine and some other items. So, I picked her up and she brought me some breakfast.
Breakfast: 1/2 cinnamon raisin bagel (100 cal) with about 1 Tbsp peanut butter (105 cal). Super yummy – I was so hungry. I also had some coffee first thing this morning before heading into work (25 cal).
Then we went to Target and looked at the Christmas stuff again and then picked up those items we needed.
After Target, we headed home and had some leftovers for lunch and my sister took a little nap because she hasn’t been sleeping well.
Lunch: The rest of my linguine alla Marinara (215 cal) and I steamed some broccoli – about 1/2 cup (15 cal) to go with it topped it with 1 Tbsp of Nutritional Yeast (30 cal)
Later on this afternoon, we headed out to take a tour of the city…well, more like a tour of Ybor and Channelside, but it was done on the Trolley, what better way to hitch a ride? It was a blast. The weather was nice and we just walked around. We stopped by a Tattoo Parlor to get pricing on some things…maybe something new for me in the upcoming year…we’ll see!!
We got home around 5:30 and I headed to the gym to get a short workout in
Snacks: a handful of pecans + 2 reeses cup (approx 200 cal)
Workout: 30 mins on stationary bike + 15 push ups + 5 min abs
Dinner: When I got back from the gym, my sister was making us some delicious lentil soup w/ crumbled goat cheese and crushed tortilla chips (325 cal) + some Dark Chocolate M&Ms (approx 200 cal – I’m not sure how many I had, should’ve measured, but I didn’t. I hope I’m aiming high)
Jana’s Lentil Soup
- 1 16 oz bag of lentils
- 1 15 oz can whole kernel sweet corn (not creamed), drained
- 1 15 0z can black beans, drained
- 1/4 cup chopped onions
- 1 Tbsp Morton Nature’s Season Seasoning Blend (or add according to taste)
Saute’ onions for 1 min. Fill large soup pot 3/4 full with water. Add lentils, bring to a boil until softened. Add corn and beans and Nature’s Seasoning. Bring back to a boil and summer for about 25 to 30 mins.
I added crumbled goat cheese and tortilla chips to mine – so yummy – definitely comfort food. I love lentil soup and make mine a completely different way. This was a nice change…kind of like a Southwestern lentil soup.
And a beer
Now, with our bellies full, we’re just watching some TV – Tabitha’s Salon Takeover – I think it’s a marathon today and I really like this show! It’s fun and has made me thing twice about the salon I go to and who my stylist is. Very enlightening! My sister is reading too and the hubby went to see Avatar with a friend since we weren’t that interested in seeing it. He’s been wanting to see it for a while, so he jumped at the chance to go.
My sister is heading to my Aunt and Uncle’s house tomorrow, but will be back on New Years Eve! Yay! We’re not sure what we’re gonna do, but it should be fun.

Peace out.
