I absolutely love baked tofu. The first thing I always do is to press the tofu. I simply wrap the block of tofu in a dish towel and then put a stack of cookbooks on top to add weight and help with pushing out the moisture. I let it sit for 20-30 mins. Then, I slice the block according to my desired thickness. Now it’s ready to be marinated.
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Mix together items for marinade – I used soy sauce – probably 2 Tbsp, 1 Tbsp rice wine vinegar, 1 tsp sesame oil. Spoon over tofu slices and then flip to make sure both sides are coated.
I let the tofu marinate for about 30 mins.
Once it has marinated, place into hot oven and back for 15 mins, then turn and bake for another 15 to 20 mins, or until desired texture is obtained.
Let cool for a few mins and enjoy!
