Clean House = Peace of Mind

February 8, 2010 · Leave a Comment

Is it just me or does it make you feel so much better mentally to have a clean house?  I seriously was excited to clean this place up, we’ve been out-of-town and then on the go so much, that things were just everywhere.  So, I spent most the weekend cleaning the bathrooms, kitchen, bedroom living room and doing laundry.  Felt good to look around a nice and clean place.  I always start to feel overwhelmed and anxious of there is too much clutter.  I will definitely be sleeping better tonight, knowing my place looks good and is in order.  Such a good feeling for starting a new work week.

I also spent some quality time at the gym on Saturday morning

Workout:

  • 5 min warm-up – walking on treadmill
  • 65 min stationary back – 1:1 Intervals – lvl 3, lvl7
  • 5 min cool down on bike
  • 2 sets of 12 reps
  • Assisted Arm Dips on machine – 77 lbs
  • Chess Press – 12 lbs
  • Tricep press – 33 lbs
  • Bent over rows – 8 lbs
  • Alternating Rows – 8 lbs

Sunday – no workout

Eats…here are some eats from the weekend

Saturday Morning Breakfast: 1 egg + 1 egg white, 1 Tbsp Hummus, 1 Tbsp Avocado + 1 slice Turkey Bacon (162 cals)

I didn’t really break for lunch but munched on some of my vegan oatmeal cookies I made on Friday night

Vegan Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

I also snacked on 1 serving of Food Should Taste Good jalapeno chips (140 cals)

Saturday Dinner: I made some Chana Masala based on this recipe from Smitten Kitchen. This was so much spicier than what I usually make.  It tastes amazing.  I did make some changes to the recipe…I added about twice as many tomatoes, 2 tsp of turmeric and only 1/2 a lemon.  I didn’t have any amchoor powder either. I also only had cumin seeds and didn’t feel like toasting them and then grinding them up, so I used a few more whole seeds.

Bentley decided to chill out with me while I was looking at some things online.

I also ran to the library and picked out a few cookbooks and books to look through.  Then I just watched some TV, read some blogs and looked through my books.

I had the snackies, so I had probably 2 more cookies.

Sunday morning breakfast:  A Fiber One Bar (140 cals)

Then I headed off to church – Common Ground Tampa.  We started a new series called “God, Love, Sex”.

For the month of February, Common Ground will be sharing in a series called “God, Love, Sex.” We will be looking at love from …the book of Song of Solomon.
Week 1: Relational Matters
Week 2: It’s the Thought That Counts.
Week 3: Sex or Intimacy
Week 4: Worse Case Scenario
Make plans to make the most of your relationships. Find out what God has to say about love and sex. You might be surprised what you hear.

The first part was so good, I can’t wait for the rest of the series.

Lunch: I ate a late lunch because I was baking Bana Bread and the rest of my vegan oatmeal cookies for Monday’s small group. I had 1 egg + 1 egg white, 1 Tbsp Hummus, 1 Tbsp Avocado (142 cals)

While my banana bread baked, I finished up the laundry, put away our clothes, vacuumed the rug and bedroom and made sure the floors were clean for company.  I had another couple over for the Super Bowl.

Dinner: For Dinner, we had Pizza!  I had 3 slices of thin crust, veggie lovers, with NO cheese.  Super yummy!  I also had a breadstick and 1/2 a cinnamon stick w/ a little icing for dipping.

I had a blast with my company!  They have recently moved down from Missouri and are a trip.  They really made my weekend awesome!

After the Super Bowl I headed off to bed.

So, that was my weekend in a nutshell.  Hope your’s was a great one!
