Hey guys!
I wish I could say this post was about going to South Beach, but it’s not. They hubby and I have decided to start the South Beach diet this coming week. I actually started on Saturday, which is exactly one month before my friend’s wedding. Hopefully, I can drop a few pounds before our trip! Also, I think it’ll be good for us and I think it’ll help us stay on it if we both are doing it together. I’m excited and am off to a good start…no cheating for me!! I think the South Beach is a good plan for us…there is a lot of variety that we can eat, which will make it easier to stick with it.
So, I started Saturday morning off by hitting the gym and did strength training for the upper body and some cardio.
Workout:
Warm-up: 10 mins elliptical – lvl 2
Elliptical – 20 mins, lvl 2
Treadmill – 65 mins while reading my book – incline @4
Breakfast: The hubby fixed us an awesome breakfast for our first day on the South Beach diet..Yummy egg white omelette
Snacks:
I also snacked on a serving of roasted almonds (170 cals)
We spent the day watching the Olympics and then the hubby went to go help out a friend, so I stayed home and read my book and then fixed some dinner for us. I also did some weekend chores – yay!
Dinner: For dinner I made chili for the week. It was delicious. I topped mine with goat cheese
Here’s what I threw in:
- 1 Lg canned of diced tomatoes
- 1 can Light Kidney Beans
- 1 can Dark kidney Beans
- 1 can Chickpeas
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 red bell pepper
- 1/2 green red pepper
- 1/2 red onion
- 2.5 Tbsps chili powder
- 1 Tbsp Hershey’s cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp Chili powder
- 1/2 tsp Coriander
- 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
After we grabbed a quick bite to eat, we headed over to another couples’ house to hang out for the evening. We didn’t get to bed until almost 1:00am. Woah…it’s been a while since I’ve been up that late.
