“Marriage is not a noun; it’s a verb. It isn’t something you get. It’s something you do. It’s the way you love your partner every day.” *Barbara De Angelis
Hey there! Hope you guys had a great Wednesday. I don’t know what’s going on this week, but I am Sooo behind. Anyway, Wednesday was a pretty good day.
I felt this quote was appropriate for the day because we have our weekly couples meeting on Wednesdays and talk about making our relationship strong. The hubby was unable to attend last night because of work. So, I went by myself. I’m glad I went because we talked about infidelity. Wished the hubby would’ve been there too, because it was a good discussion.
We watched a video about a pastor who cheated on his wife with her best friend, who was also the children’s minister. They had been drifting apart for many years and finally this led to him cheating. It talked about resigning from his church and then going to his wife and telling her he was leaving her. It was very inspiring because on the video, she had so much grace. She didn’t talk about how angry or hurt she was and seeking revenge. Not sure if she went through all of that, but from her video, I think she might have not been. Very mature in her walk with God, that’s for sure. They sought counseling and have been completely restored and are new people.
Here’s the link if you’re interested. They also have a blog called RefineUs and provides information on what they went through in hopes it might help others. They will actually be speaking at our church, Common Ground Tampa, this coming Sunday. I’m looking forward to hearing what they have to say.
This was a heavy subject and our pastor flat-out told our group that every single one of us has the propensity for infidelity. Which is a little scary. I definitely want to take all of the steps I possibly can to make sure this doesn’t happen to us. I mean, it’s kind of scary to think that if a pastor allows this to take place, how safe are we. The one’s that are called to a higher purpose to lead others the way Jesus would lead us, if they can fall into this type of temptation, well, so can we and maybe even more so.
I’ve already sent the hubby the link and even took notes. I want our marriage to be amazing and to reach its fullest potential.
Ok, that’s talk about something a little lighter…eats for the day!
