Hey y’all! Hope your weekend has gotten off to a great start. The hubby has been a little under the weather since returning from his London trip. So, we’ve been pretty low-key today and just hanging out a ton together watching documentaries. Fun!!
So, yesterday the hubby and I slept in since he got home so late. So, before he got ready and went into work we sat down on the couch with our coffee and he told me all about his trip and what he got to do. Every year they do some kind of group competition and this year they did The Amazing Race and his team came in first. His team won last year too – way to go babe!
He also brought me back a few goodies.
Delicious chocolate for my “vicious sweet tooth” from La Maison Du Chocolat – I’ve already eaten 1 piece but will try to hold onto the last piece as long as I can. My box contained the Sylvia (Plain Milk Chocolate Ganache) – It was delicious – and the flavor tasted like toffee, and was super creamy – it melted in my mouth and was delicious. Instant love! I’m waiting to eat the Boheme (Milk Chocolate Mouse).
The hubby also brought me back this beautiful coffee table/photo book of London. He said that since he didn’t have the opportunity to take a lot of photos of London, that this book would help me see what he saw on his trip. How thoughtful! It’s a beautiful book – can’t wait to spend more time looking through it.
Breakfast – 1 spoonful of Raw Almond butter – by the time we were done talking and decided to get ready for the day it was almost lunch time so not much breakfast for us
Lunch – The hubby was craving some good American food…so he chose – Tacqueria del Sol, yeah – I guess that’s not really American, but he was missing good food and this is one of his favorites – I had 2 tacos today
Jicama Fish taco: breaded fish in panko and ginger + shredded jicama and jalapeno mayo
Memphis taco: BBQ pork + coleslaw + jalapeno mayo
We also shared chips and guacamole - we didn’t finish all of the chips today – that was a good thing
Snack – 1 date + Almond butter + handful of vegan chocolate chips
After running to Target, I decided to stop at a local health food store called Nuts “N Berries that’s super close to our apt. It’s pretty small, but they stock some hard to find items. They have a ton of vitamins on hand.
Here are my purchases from Nuts ‘N Berries: Braggs Liquid Aminos, Love Force’s Raw Sun Flax Focaccia Bread and Improv’eat’s Raw coconut wrappers.
Workout:
- 10 min – treadmill, walking
- 30 mins full body elliptical – 2:2 intervals – resistance @ lvl 1, then lvl 8
- 30 mins stationary bike – resistance @ lvl 5
Dinner: After the gym, I was starving and decided to fix oatmeal for my dinner. It was awesome and tasted like cocoa pebbles
Cocoa Pebble Oats:
- 1/2 cup oats cooked in water
- A splash of Almond milk
- 1 Tbsp Almond butter
- 1/2 tsp Earth Balance
- 1 Tbsp (maybe more) Vegan chocolate chips
- 1 tsp maple syrup
After dinner, we watched Cocaine Cowboys 2 – very different from the first but interesting nonetheless. It’s weird to think how quickly some of the drugs made their way into the United States and how much money drug dealers made off of this deadly habit. Mind blowing actually how anyone could sleep at night - not just for the fact that they’re hooking thousands of people on these substances, but that they could actually sleep peacefully and not in fear that someone would take them out in hopes of gaining their market share. I would be so paranoid….Anyway, these films are just interesting because I am so far removed from this scene that I can’t imagine what someone in that role could possibly be thinking. Although I don’t condone or support what these people do, it was fascinating watching and listening about this because it’s so opposite of who I am as a person and the morals I hold. I understand the motivation, money and power, but I don’t understand the cold heartless actions of these people. So, that’s how we spent our evening.
We crashed out after that.
Hope you guys have a great Saturday night.
