Hey y’all! Hope you’re having an awesome Monday. I wanted to recap my Friday, seeing as I haven’t blogged since then. Here were Friday’s eats and events….
Breakfast: 3 Egg whites (48 cals) + a spoonful of AB and yogurt (93 cals) + Coffee w/ agave and 1/2 and 1/2 (22 cals)
Snack: White Chocolate Macadamia Bar (190 cals)
Lunch: Friday my boss took me to lunch at Souper Jenny in Buckhead and it was so yummy.
We both got the $12 lunch deal – which is your choice of any two menu items. It comes with a roll, the daily treat (usually a cookie), a piece of whole, fresh fruit and a drink of your choice. They are mostly known for the delicious homemade soups that are featured daily, they usually make 6 varieties. What’s so great is that they’re also featuring cold soups for the summertime and they really sounded amazing. I however, did not go with the soup, sometimes I have to be in the mood for soup and it was blazing hot, so soup, albeit a cold one, just didn’t feel right to me – but a fresh grain salad and fresh fruit sounded awesome!
I ordered the Bulgur salad with grilled asparagus, arugula and artichoke hearts + mixed fruit (blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, strawberries and fresh pineapple)+ a roll (which I didn’t eat) + a lemon flavored cookie and water (approx 393 cals)
No pics but the meal was delicious! I wasn’t sure how my boss would react to me whipping out my camera. I think I’ll give it a little more time – some people think it’s weird. But I’ll probably bring it out next time.
The place was packed and the decor is very whimsical and cheery. Bright colors, various seating arrangements and an oversized couch definitely add a lot of character to this restaurant. There is even a little playroom for the kids to use once they’re done eating, I thought this was a very clever idea. I also learned that all of the servers are also performers at the local theaters which is kind of neat.
Snack: 1 Lindt truffle (73 calls)
Dinner: We ended up meeting up with another couple to see a movie down at the AMC theater in Atlantic Station and didn’t have time to get dinner – I grabbed a Luna Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Bar, (190 cals) – and ate it during the movie – I also had a few bites of the hubby’s pressed buffalo chicken sandwich he ordered – I didn’t eat any of the chicken though. (78 cals)
Dessert: 1 Lindt truffle (73 cals)
Total Calories: 1159 cals
We saw The Other Guys at the movie theater at Atlantic Station. This was pretty crowded since it was opening weekend, but luckily we were able to find good seats. The hubby and I resisted the temptation of getting popcorn this time. I felt much better about our night out by not eating all of that salt and fat.
This movie was funny, sometimes I’m picky about the movies I want to see in the theater. Not sure if this is 100% theater quality, but it was a lot better than I thought it would be. Funny and corny in some spots, but not over the top stupid that I had feared. I really like both of the main actors – Will Farrell and Mark Wahlberg.
It was a good evening to a good day.
Peace out guys…
